Whilst it might burst your bubble to hear that Superblue is closed for maintenance until the 21st January, this exhibition will be back up and running shortly, so don’t forget to book your tickets! Venture into a mirrored chamber, where robotic arms and vapour orbs will have you feeling as if you’d stepped onto the set of a science fiction movie.
As a shower of a crystal-like balls cascade from above you, make sure to catch one, bounce one or burst one before it hits the floor. This installation combines creativity, futurism and fun, an experience which will leave you feeling both euphoric and mesmerised. Although your visit will be limited to a 15 minute time slot, Superblue is a sensory experience like no other – and if you have some time to spare, the Royal Academy is a stones throw away.
Who are A.A. Murakami?
Established in 2011 by founders Azusa Murakami and Alexander Groves, A.A. Murakami push artistic boundaries with their medium: Ephemeral Tech. Combining digital and sensorial, this experimental duo explore the themes of identity, globalisation and sustainability using unconventional methods. Silent Fall is part of a series of installations exploring the relationship between the natural world and the digital world – a recurrent theme within the contemporary art scene, which has also been investigated by the likes of LUX: New Wave of Contemporary Art & Anicka Yi at Tate Modern.
