The majority of people who live in and around London will be familiar with the recent re-opening of Battersea Power Station, an iconic industrial landmark now turned shopping centre. Whilst as expected, the building houses a vast range of shops, restaurants, bars and even a cinema, it is the architectural homage to it’s industrial history that is sure to take you by surprise.
I’ll be candid in admitting that this extensive structure is difficult to navigate at first, but with a little exploration of it’s various nooks and crannies, you’ll be sure to stumble upon some beautiful architecture and design. Towering pillars, echoing chambers, exposed mechanical lifts and even untouched historical features, this dim lit brick warehouse has been designed with even the smallest details in mind.
Battersea Power Station is also host to a range of events and activities to enjoy. From yoga to mini-golf, you can browse a range of things to do on their website linked below. Whilst many shops are still yet to open, I recommend taking the opportunity to visit this incredible site – It’s more than just a shopping centre, it’s a little taste of history!
