I have long been on the hunt for London’s best cookie, having tasted some mighty contenders from east to west. Whilst their reputation precede them, is Créme really the crème de la crème of London cookies?
The Cookies
Met by pastel pink pillars and a queue of crazed cookie monsters, I knew that we were in for a treat (literally). A decadent store for decadent cookies, and a price tag to match. Whilst the fare for a choc chip chunk might appear a little steep, I can assure you that these cookies could easily feed two people.
1. White Chocolate Miso
6/10 – I had high hopes for the white chocolate miso as a huge fan of salted caramel. Whilst it didn’t necessarily disappoint, I wasn’t as fond of the flavour as I was expecting. The miso was almost too savoury and was slightly over powering.
2. Banana Dark Choc
5/10 – Admittedly, I was really disappointed by this one. I am a huge fan of banana flavour and dark chocolate, but this didn’t do either justice. The banana flavour barely came through and the dark chocolate was too bitter for my liking.
3. Milk Chocolate
8/10 – Sometimes less really is more, particularly when it comes to the classics! The milk choc was by far my favourite. The ratios were perfect and the milk choc was rich and creamy. I personally prefer my cookies a little slimmer, still fudgey, but firmer on the outside.
The verdict? Thick and fudgey, these cookies are closer to a brownie texture than a standard cookie. Whilst I usually prefer a crispier coat, a gooey centre never goes a miss! Whilst, the milk choc is definitely in my top 3 London cookies, I personally wouldn’t order the other two again, but that’s just me! Overall, I’d definitely head back to try the vegan choc option, and I highly recommend taking a look for yourself.
