This year, the Kew Orchid Festival is back and bigger than ever, taking inspiration from the dense jungle habitats of Cameroon. Taking over the Princess of Wales Conservatory, an array of exotic plants and sculptures pervade from wall-wall, ceiling to floor. Prepare to be met by an explosion of colour in this otherworldly utopia, a taste of the tropics at the tip of your fingers.
Weave through this vibrant display, where hippopotamus lurk beneath the water, alligators perch by the water bed and gorillas nest amongst the foliage. From archway-to-archway, habitat-to-habitat, you’ll be greeted by each creative execution and the impressive variety of the orchid family. Orchids the size of a teardrop, the width of your palm, some coiled and intricate or soft and delicate. There’s no bounds to this spectacular garden, a truly magnificent exhibition not to be missed.
Opening its doors to the mystery and magic of the evening, the Orchid Festival after hours also returns for 2023. Enjoy the display from sunset to twilight, experiencing the exhibition from a new light and perspective, with food, drink and music available.
