London’s oldest independent live music venue
- Where? West Brompton, 265-267 Old Brompton Rd, London SW5 9JA
- How much? ££
- What? Modern British restaurants and live music venue
The Troubadour is renowned as one of London’s longest running live music venues, opening its doors in the 1950s, and hosting the likes of Elton John and Bob Dylan. Walls riddled with art, posters and dusted mirrors, mismatched furniture crammed into the dining space and an enchanting secret garden tucked away round the back, the Troubadour is a truly enticing space – it’s no wonder it has stood the test of time!
During the day, the Troubadour serves a small brunch and lunch menu. Though the choices are limited, the food is absolutely delicious and you’ll save hours of online pre-planning beforehand! Whilst the inside is a quirky and relaxed space, during the summer months I would recommend booking a seat in the garden, a lively, plush and magical courtyard! As a group, we tried two out of four of the main courses, the goats cheese and pistachio salad, and (what appears to be) their speciality, the beef brisket burger. Thumbs up all round, with delicious flavours and reasonable prices. For a venue famous for music, the food is a very pleasant surprise!
Troubadour still hosts a variety of acts; jazz musicians, up and coming artists, as well as household favourites. Take a look on their website and book yourself a spot!
