I’d like to welcome you all to the newly revamped blog, Calendar Girl, formerly known as The Amateur Archive. Some of you may have noticed a fresh new name, a vibrant colour scheme, and a catchy new tagline: “Plans Made Easy.” Calendar Girl is here to help you effortlessly plan your weekends and travel adventures, with pre-made itineraries and thoroughly reviewed recommendations from an obsessively organised 24 year old!
When I first started my blog two years ago, I wasn’t really sure where it would take me, nor did I have much confidence as a writer. Hence, the birth of The ‘Amateur’ Archive. Since then, I have discovered my passion for writing London location reviews and extensive top-to-tail holiday itineraries. My friends are all too familiar with the 10-page list of activities, restaurants, parks, cafes, and bars that accompany me on every trip. The truth is, I fear missing out on things, and I hate the idea of eating a bad meal out. If it takes weeks of internet browsing to find the best, most secluded, most delicious meal in any location, then so be it!
In contrast to the movie ‘Calendar Girls,’ my blog will not be featuring a nude calendar anytime soon. However, that doesn’t mean I’m opposed to the idea of a photographic calendar in the future. Hold that thought. The decision to rebrand my blog wasn’t influenced by the iconic comedy starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters, although the catchy title was indeed inspired by it. The reason behind the rebrand is much simpler: I meticulously document everything in my calendar!
So without further ado, in the words of the legendary Sharpay Evans, “it’s out with the old and in with the new”!
Thanks for reading, and thanks to those who have supported The Amateur Archive over the past few years – all blogs using the previous domain can still be accessed through the original link until October. Please make sure to subscribe below or head over to my socials linked for more Plans Made Easy!
