Just a short walk from Chancery Lane and City Thameslink stations, the Natural Kitchen naturally attracts Holborn’s corporate crowds. Between 12pm and 2pm, expect to encounter boozy business banter and suited professionals taking full advantage of the convenience and affordability of this health-conscious eatery. Given that my offices are located nearby, Natural Kitchen quickly caught our attention for a team lunch, and after browsing its menu, we were excited to give it a try!

When it comes to corporate dining, Natural Kitchen stands out as an obvious choice. The chic, sophisticated, and spacious environment offers ample room for large parties, and the vast menu provides options for every dietary requirement. However, our experience was slightly disappointing. Despite promising pre-prepared meals after we pre-ordered our lunches (for a party of 5), the service fell short. The meals hadn’t even started being cooked when we arrived. Squeezing a sit-down lunch into an already busy working day isn’t easy, and considering the venue claims to accommodate such occasions, better coordination would have been expected.

Despite the small hiccup upon arrival, the overall experience was quite pleasant. The lively atmosphere and the large windows created a bright and vibrant setting. Once they eventually prepared our order, the food arrived quickly. Given that it was already 1 pm when we sat down, the generous portions that arrived in front of us were very much appreciated. Big bowls of udon, teriyaki salmon, courgetti spaghetti, and fish & chips soon filled the table, deliciously displayed and incredibly inviting.

The food itself was nice, but not particularly exciting. I ordered the king prawn and sesame chicken udon and was disappointed to find only two prawns hidden beneath a tower of noodles, and while the flavours were tasty, I was hoping for more of a chilli kick. Considering the £23 price tag, a more generous serving of prawns would have been appreciated. Nevertheless, the rest of the table enjoyed their meals, leaving behind empty plates and utensils.

Overall, I would consider revisiting Natural Kitchen for business occasions or with a smaller group that requires less prior coordination, such as two or three people. It caters to a variety of tastes and is conveniently located in three of London’s prime corporate areas, making it an easy choice for a sit-down lunch!
