As a part of the Daisy Green Collection, Peggy Jean boasts a vibrant, floral entrance with charming baby pink and blue accents. It stays true to the aesthetically pleasing style expected from this Aussie chain. The unique experience is set on a historic barge on Richmond’s beautiful riverside, adding charming views to your dining experience.
I’ve visited several of these restaurants and must admit that this is by far the most stunning. The barge, which dates back to the 1850s, has been restored to brighten the riverbank during the day. At night, it lights up with a sparkling array, creating a breathtaking sight. It’s the perfect spot for brunch, bottomless drinks, or their famous banana bread, all with amazing views in an unbeatable setting. Throughout our visit, we received wonderful, accommodating, and friendly service, heightening this special experience. I highly recommend a visit!
The Food
We went to Peggy Jean for brunch, but they also offer lunch and dinner, all with an Aussie twist. Their bottomless brunch is quite popular, priced at £50 per person or £40 for the ‘tea-total’ option, which includes one savoury and one sweet dish. In terms of London’s bottomless options, this falls into the mid to high price range, particularly as it includes two dishes. However, I personally found that one savoury dish was sufficient, and that two dishes would be too much for one person.
We opted out of the bottomless option and instead ordered a couple of cocktails separately, feeling that this choice provided excellent value for money. In the end, our meal totaled around £35 each, including drinks.

Back bacon, poached eggs, chilli and fennel sausage, mushrooms, avocado, house chilli pesto, charcoal sourdough
Rating: 7/10. This meal delivered exactly what you would expect from a delicious, ‘all-the-works’ breakfast – crispy bacon, perfectly gooey eggs, and a juicy sausage. The addition of a perfectly ripe avocado lived up to the high standards of an Aussie chain. However, it was the house chilli pesto that stole the show for me, being the perfect condiment for the spicy sausage and charred mushrooms. The only letdown was the bread; the charcoal sourdough was quite bitter and tasted burnt. I would have preferred a thick slice of tiger loaf on the side instead, as it just didn’t add anything.
