The White Cross is an iconic destination in Richmond, celebrated for its riverside views and delectable pub grub, with a quirky charm that includes the occasional flooding during heavy rain. On sunnier days, the pub transforms into a lively hotspot, overflowing of a different kind, as customers pile onto the pavements and gather by the river’s edge. It’s one of my favourite places to enjoy a drink on a sunny day, making it a must-visit addition to your South London itinerary!

If you’re off to the White Cross for some hearty grub or a Sunday Roast, don’t forget to book ahead—it’s a weekend hotspot! The menu has a quirky twist compared to your usual British pie and mash, featuring a delightful array of international dishes like bang bang chicken salad. But fear not, they still serve up the classics! Think sausage and mash, fish and chips, glazed gammon knuckles, and even pork faggots. If you’re in the mood for something authentically British, it doesn’t get much better than a flooding pub serving pints and pie! The food, though timelessly authentic, isn’t particularly remarkable; the charm of this London pub comes primarily from its location and service.

  1. It would be easier to read the headline over the photo if you made it a different colour. xxAlan J NORRISPorchester House Kingswood Warren ParkWoodland Way, Kingswood Tadworth, SurreyKT20 6ADTel: +44 7785 324884
